Is it hypnosis, hypnotherapy or psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy may not involve utilizing hypnotic states, but when it does, it can be called hypnotherapy.
There are many common applications of hypnosis. For example, sportsmen use hypnotic state to rehearse in their mind that perfect performance before they are actually able to physically achieve it and it helps them to attain the level of performance much faster; or when someone is listening to affirmations in a light hypnotic state to accentuate strengths and to shake off negativity; or using self-hypnosis to stay comfortable during a dental appointment.
Hypnotic state itself may be experienced as just pleasant, relaxing. It is similar to that inner state of peacefulness and tranquility often encountered in meditation, when you can just leave all the problems of the outside world outside, and keep finding ever more fascinating ‘inner passages’ – maybe to places of great beauty, empowerment, and Love. .. discovering your Self and your connection with the Divine – or maybe just that place where you can unwind completely, let go of all stress , relax, and refresh. For some, it is easier to learn to attain such state with hypnotic guidance than when they try to calm their mind in meditation.
From simple self-help applications, to demanding great level of psychological knowledge and psychotherapy skills, attending to deeply buried emotional wounds from the past, hypnotherapy means many different things.

In 2004 she founded Counselling Hypnotherapy Centre Clinic in Brampton, upon which success she established also the CHC Academy teaching in five locations in Ontario. In 2010 CHC qualified for certification as Private Educational Institution issued by the Minister of Employment and Social Development.
In the early 2015, Counselling Hypnotherapy Centre became part of owned by Ivona Inspiring Solutions Psychotherapy.
As of hypnotherapeutic methods, she has great appreciation for the teachings and ways of solving problems by the greatest hypnotherapist yet, Milton Erickson, who was always capable of localizing and helping to resolve his clients’ inner blockages and unintentionally created reasons for limitations. He was genius in understanding mind-body connection and in restoring balance and health.
Ivona understands in depth the workings of emotions and can help you to free yourself from emotional scars, to ‘let go of the past’ and to learn how to harness the power of positive emotions for healing and overall well-being.
Her preferred methods are based on utilizing a hypnotic state, because subconscious mind thinks in emotions’ categories, and it only makes sense to communicate with the subconscious mind in matters it knows better than the conscious mind.
Also, Ivona appreciates the effectiveness of working with mental metaphors, which is kind of like detecting counter-productive dreams and then guiding someone to change them into helpful ones. Most people find these techniques intriguing, leading to greater self-awareness and often to realizations that some problems only make an impression of being too hard to tackle, but that being able to have a look at them from a different perspective can result in an ‘aha’ moment and solution.
