DEPRESSION
Probably the most overwhelming thing about being depressed is how helpless it feels. It is almost as if life force was on a dimmer and turned down, so everything seems dark and bleak. A painful and confusing place to be.
Sometimes the reason for feeling depressed stems from physiological malfunction. But in other cases, the root cause is psychological in nature. In both cases, the presenting symptoms may look similar, and the underlying physiological state is alike. The difference is that depression onset by experience could be cleared with psychotherapy, and the person regains the ability to create positive emotional states without medication.
